Quick post tonight due to some travel but I will be back at it in the morning.
The Russell and Dow were red today, but the Nazzy was green by almost one percent, and the SPX was flat.
Not great breadth and depth by any stretch but the Nazzy ws led by the semiconductors after a bad day yesterday. TXN hurt the SMH yesterday, but today, Lam Research (LRCX 260.85, +27.64, +11.9%) was up big after the semiconductor company beat earnings estimates and provided upside guidance.
This is the tale of the tape, you get a bad one, then a good one.
In other news, TWTR dropped 20% after a bad report. I consider TWTR is a “quasi” FAANG stock in my opinion, so the rest of the FAANG names will be interesting to watch after their earnings reports.
I will spend more time on this topic this weekend, but the gold and silver names are all possibly sporting short term bottoms and bull wedges.
