Morning Morsel-2010 Kickoff

First off, good luck to everyone this year with your trading. I think 2010 will be one to remember as well, although the charts won’t go from the lower left to the upper right without hesitation like we saw in 09. If they do, then Cramer and Kudlow will have been right all along and I will have to commit suicide on StocktwitsTV.

A few themes I’m watching in 2010. Interest rates rising, the dollar rising, I’ll be short Russia (RSX), Sovereign silliness will continue, oil will surpass $100 and jobs won’t get a helluva lot better. I have no idea what cloud computing is, but it will be big. Can the market go higher in the face of all that? Probably.

It’s hard to believe, but we kick off fourth quarter earnings season next Monday with Alcoa.

Futures are nicely higher with the Nazzy leading the other indices. Oil is over $80 on demand optimism. The tallest building in Dubai opens today to laser shows, fireworks and leaping skydivers. What an 80’s excess move that was.

Have a great day and a profitable 2010.
